The Flaming Pumpkin is a Pre-Hardmode Boss to be fought right before Skeletron. It is the second Shadows of Abaddon boss in terms of progression.
Spawn
The Flaming Pumpkin can be summoned manually using a Dread Lantern at Night. When the boss spawns, the face of the boss will appear first. It will stay a couple of seconds before the pumpkin itself spawns.
Behavior
In the first phase, the boss will stay stationary at the place it spawns, while at the same time being affected by gravity. All the Dread Cores that are currently alive must be defeated to damage it.
Attacks
First Phase
- When the boss spawns, it will summon 4 Dread Cores around itself, connected with a vine
- At 75% HP, the pumpkin will spawn 6 cores. This repeats at 50% HP and 25% HP, adding 2 more cores each time.
- The pumpkin will also fire burning seeds and bouncing fireballs at the player, both inflicting the On Fire! Debuff. The fire rate of these projectiles will speed up gradually as the pumpkin's health decreases.
Second Phase
- The pumpkin will now jump to follow the player. When it hits the ground after a jump, it will spawn a row of 10 spikes to its left and right.
- The pumpkin will alternate between firing 8 burning seeds and 5 bouncing fireballs at the player
- The pumpkin will also fire a barrage of pumpkin flame seeds into the air.

- Having its shell destroyed, the fire spirit living inside the pumpkin flies towards the player in an attempt to ram them, as well as executing 3 different attacks.
- He fires 3 seeds towards the player.
- He shoots fireballs in random directions 2 times.
- He creates an explosion below all nearby players.

Tips

- When the boss spawns, it will spawn directly on top of the player. Use this to your advantage and spawn it in a lower area, where it cannot reach you in its second phase
- Almost all the pumpkin's attacks inflict the On Fire! debuff. A good solution here is to have either water or honey nearby.

- The Flaming Pumpkin's theme is Embers in the Night Sky, which was composed by the artist LordCakeSpy.
- Defeating his expert exclusive form will reveal that the spirit's name is Ralnek.
