True Mode

True Mode is a higher difficulty mode activated with the Sigil of the Corrupted One. The sigil only drops once in the early moments of an expert world. The item can only be used while there is no boss alive and disappears outside of expert mode. The mode changes the behavior of the mod's bosses, and allows access to a few new items and mechanics.
Exclusive Mechanics
Superarmor and Hyperarmor
Superarmor and Hyperarmor are defensive bonuses that bosses and some enemies gain during certain attacks. Superarmor increases damage reduction by 40% and grants immunity to knockback, while Hyperarmor grants 60% damage reduction, knockback immunity and immunity to all debuffs.
Aggression
Bosses have an internal aggression value that increases as the battle progresses or is dealt damage rapidly. Having a high aggression value causes bosses to improve existing attacks and use new ones. Further details will be found on its main page
Damage Falloff
After a certain distance, damage dealt to a boss or its summons is reduced. Its effect can be seen by having the Fighter's Visor in the inventory and can be lessened by the new Accuracy stat. Further details will be found on its main page.
Diminishing Returns
Melee Speed, Crit Chance, Polarize and Accuracy give less benefits out of them the more they are stacked. The exact formulas are currently unknown, and the effects will be shown on a new window that will be added later.
Challenge Items
Challenge items are specific items that can only be dropped from bosses under a specific condition. These item have their own accessory slot and need to be soulbound in order to have effect.
New Stats
Boss Damage
Boss damage increases damage dealt to bosses.
Polarize
Polarize increases damage dealt AND taken.
Accuracy
This stat reduces the effect of Damage Falloff.
Suppression
While it appears outside of true mode, a lot of items that give suppression will be true mode exclusive. This stat reduces the effects of Shadowflare Vortex.
Crit Damage
Crit damage increases damage dealt by critical hits.
Boss Changes
Abaddon
- Fires projectiles at higher speeds.
- A second ring of Nightmare Souls orbit him in phase 4.
- Minions also appear in phase 5.
Araghur
- Serpent Aura debuff will change to Serpent's Curse debuff upon leaving the Flame Razed Forest for more than 10 seconds, changes back when reentering.
- Serpent's Curse disables usage of healing potions, nullifies regen and decreases damage dealt
- Araghur can fire a giant barrage of fireballs, indicated by a roar
- If health goes below 20%, he will begin summoning Paradox Shadows, which appear faster the lower his health gets
- Increased damage of all attacks
The Lost Siblings
- The last active sibling in phase 1 will unleash a desperation move until defeated.
- You have 4 minutes to beat Novaniel, and he buffs himself every minute that passes.
- He will also begin inflicting Shattered Armor from empowerment 1 onward and Distorted Weapon from empowerment 2 onward.
- When the timer runs out all players will die.
Nihilus
- Phase 1 damage increased from 440 to 550 and health from 1,500,000 to 2,250,000.
- Dread pillars are summoned on every player in multiplayer.
- Nihilus attacks faster if the player is not in a lantern's zone
- Phase 1 lanterns can be reignited if left alone for 15 seconds and not all lanterns are down.
- Phase 2 damage increased from 500 to 680 and health from 2,300,000 to 3,150,000.
- Phase 2 lanterns increase Nihilus' damage by 10% instead of 5%.
- Excess lantern reignition replenish 5% of Nihilus' health.
- Claw strikes send fireballs after the second annihilation crossfire.
- The extinction charge will charge at half speed if only one crucible is alive.
- If all 10 lanterns are active, both crucibles are reactivated.
- Condemnation Ray can still be used after the Extinction Ray is used.
This does not include any Aggression changes, which are shown in the boss' page if they have any.

Other Changes
- Nuba sells Exitum Lux armor and Lux Enhancement Shards after Abaddon, Araghur and The Lost Siblings have been defeated in True Mode. You will also have access to her special UI that allows you to enhance the armor with the shards.
- The shards also start dropping from enemies after they have been defeated.
