The Malevolence is a Post-Moon Lord ranged weapon. It is a direct upgrade to the Vortex Beater. It shoots bullets in rapid succession and fires a Maelstrom Rocket that homes in on enemies every 7 successful shots. It uses bullets as ammo. After three rockets have hit an enemy, one Dark Matter grenade will be given, to a maximum of three.
This weapon has an ammo magazine of 50 bullets. When the clip is empty, the weapon cannot be used until it is reloaded by pressing Reload. Holding Reload while having at least one Dark Matter grenade will switch to grenade mode, which uses these Dark Matter grenade as ammo. These granades create an area of effect on contact with tiles or enemies. If the player doesn't have any grenades and is still in grenade mode, pressing Reload will automatically switch them back to bullet mode.
Its best modifier is Unreal.
